About Qadir

Qadir is a free directory for Muslim life in the US and Canada: prayer times, Jumu’ah, mosques, halal food, khutbahs, events, and community services. Most facts on the site link to an official source, with the date we last checked it.

Why we build it

Nothing here is behind an ad, a paywall, or a sign-up, and it never will be.

How we check facts

Most facts on Qadir link to an official source: the mosque’s own website or prayer board, the restaurant’s own menu, a certifier’s register, an organizer’s own event page. Each one carries the date we last checked it, so you can judge how fresh it is.

When we cannot find something, we say so. A mosque with no published iqamah times shows “we don’t know” rather than a guess. We never fill a gap with an estimate.

How halal trust tiers work

Every halal place carries a tier. The tier says what kind of evidence stands behind the listing, not how good the food is.

  1. Own claim, backed by the community

The place says its food is halal on its own site or menu, and independent community evidence (a certifier register, a community listing, a masjid partnership, a halal-only festival) agrees.

  2. Own claim

The place says its food is halal on its own site or menu, and nothing independent backs it yet. We show its own words so you can judge them.

  3. Community evidence only

We found no halal claim from the place itself. The listing rests on dated community evidence alone.

  4. Part of the menu

Only some menu items are halal.

Rules change and menus change. If a place looks wrong, tell us and we will re-check it against its source.

Khutbahs

Our khutbah pages come from mosques’ own official channels. We record the topic, the speaker, and the date, and every link goes to the mosque’s own video.

Wrong time, closed restaurant, moved mosque: we want to hear it. Corrections are checked against the source and fixed, usually within the week. Spotted something wrong? Tell us
