For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that we can learn from yesterday, but today is a gift from Allah that we can still use well. He encouraged us to turn good intentions into good deeds and prepare for meeting Allah through the way we live each day. That includes thinking about how we use our time, earn our money, and spend what we have. He explained that fasting teaches taqwa, being conscious of Allah, even when nobody else is watching. Rather than wishing Ramadan away, we can honor it by practicing self-control and remembering the generous rewards Allah promises.
