For the dinner table

Ramadan was a school that trained us to be patient, control our desires, and remember Allah. Its purpose was not to end when Ramadan ended; we are meant to carry taqwa and steadfast faith into the rest of the year. The khutbah urged us to renew our iman, honor our parents, care for our children, avoid indecency, protect human life, and earn and speak honestly. It also called us to follow the Quran and the Sunnah rather than every competing path. We should ask Allah to accept our Ramadan, keep us firm, and bring peace to people suffering from violence.

  1. What Ramadan habit would you like to keep all year?
  2. How can our family show honor to parents and care for children?
  3. What is one way we can speak more carefully and justly this week?
