For the dinner table

The khutbah tells the story of Ka'b ibn Malik, who delayed joining the Prophet’s expedition and later chose honesty instead of making excuses. His truthful repentance brought a long hardship, but Allah eventually accepted him and welcomed him back. The lesson is that we should not postpone prayer, repentance, or other good actions. We should honor our parents, guard our speech, and return to Allah whenever we fall. The sermon also reminds young people that their efforts matter to the strength of the Muslim community.

  1. What good action have you been postponing, and what first step could you take today?
  2. How can we show our parents gratitude and care this week?
  3. What role could you play in strengthening our community?
