Repentance & taqwaFrom the masjid's own video, Oct 31, 2025.

Return to Allah and protect your faith

“We're created by Allah Himself to get to know Allah Himself, to draw close to Allah Himself.”

The khateeb, at 13:52

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah keeps giving us blessings and that we should notice them with gratitude. Through the story of Adam and Iblis, he spoke about the honor Allah gives human beings and warned against pride and deception. He urged families to make time for faith, learning at home, and connection to the masjid alongside school and other activities. He described Islam as a way of shaping our whole lives, and he strongly discouraged Halloween participation because he associated it with the devil and spiritual risk. He also reminded us never to despair of Allah’s mercy: we can keep returning to Him, asking forgiveness, and becoming better. He ended by praying for protection and relief for the ummah and asking Allah to keep us from being selfish.

  1. What blessing did you notice today that you usually forget to thank Allah for?
  2. What could we do together this week to strengthen our connection to Allah?
  3. When friends choose an activity that conflicts with our faith, how could we respond kindly and suggest something else?
