For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reflected on Al-Isra wal-Mi‘raj, the Prophet Muhammad’s miraculous night journey and journey through the heavens. The khateeb described it as an honor after years of hardship, including the loss of Khadija and his uncle Abu Talib. He encouraged us to learn from the Prophet’s patience when we face difficulties in our own lives. He connected the journey to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa with remembering Palestine and Gaza, and urged us to study the Prophet’s life and teachings. He also reminded us of Allah’s mercy and encouraged us to turn to Allah for help, guidance, and forgiveness.

  1. What could help you practice patience when something feels difficult this week?
  2. What story from the Prophet’s life would you like us to learn about together?
  3. What would you like to ask Allah for help with today?
