Victory requires patience, prayer, and reform
“Allah Azza wa Zal did not break His promise.”
Allah’s help and communal victory come through sincere tawhid, patience, prayer, moral reform, remembrance, and persistent dua, including dua for oppressed Muslims.
The khutbah in 5 steps
- The Prophet’s guidance on patience, courage, and remembrance during conflict
- Victory may be delayed because believers are tested or weakened by sin
- Allah’s promised establishment requires prayer, zakat, enjoining good, and forbidding wrong
- Sincere understanding of la ilaha illallah is the foundation of faith and intercession
- Listeners should regularly pray for Palestinians, the wounded, and the oppressed
In the khateeb's words
“Allah Azza wa Zal did not break His promise His promise is the truth”
“we need to turn back to Allah so the establishment will be given to us as an ummah that's a promise of Allah”
“the minimum that we can do to help them to ask Allah to protect them to ask Allah to save them to ask Allah to grant them victory”
For the dinner table
The khateeb taught that Allah’s help and community strength are tied to patience, remembrance, sincere worship, and moral reform. He reminded us that saying we believe does not mean we will avoid tests, and that victory may be delayed while we are being tested or while sins weaken us. He called families to guard the five daily prayers, especially on time and in congregation, give zakat, encourage good, and discourage wrong with wisdom. He also urged us to understand and live by la ilaha illallah and to keep making dua for Palestinians and other oppressed people. The message was to respond to suffering by turning back to Allah and improving our worship and conduct.
- What is one prayer habit our family could strengthen this week?
- What does la ilaha illallah ask us to change in our everyday choices?
- How can we remember oppressed people in our regular duas?
