For the dinner table
The khateeb teaches that Allah honored human beings with knowledge and gave us the responsibility to use it well. The first revelation began with reading, so learning should be a lifelong part of our faith. Beneficial knowledge includes religious learning as well as sciences and skills that help people. He also reminded us that mental and emotional health matter, and that seeking qualified help is a good thing. We can grow through learning, remain humble, and use what we know to serve others.
- What is one useful thing you would like to learn this month?
- How can knowledge help us care for someone who is struggling?
- What does it mean to understand our faith instead of only repeating its words?
