For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us to thank Allah for Islam, the Prophet Muhammad, and the month of Ramadan. He described Islam as a school where we keep learning, rather than simply doing rituals with distracted minds and hearts. He spoke about Ibrahim’s prayer for a messenger who would teach and purify the people, and Allah answering that prayer through Prophet Muhammad. Ramadan, he explained, is like a time of final exams that helps us focus on what benefits us in the hereafter. He celebrated the lessons Ramadan gives us in unity, supporting our community, family ties, strength, and belief in Allah’s oneness, and prayed that we would live to welcome Ramadan again.
