For the dinner table

The khutbah describes life as a short journey toward Allah, so we should ask whether each day is moving us toward a good ending. We are travelers who need to know ourselves, purify our hearts, and practice sabr in worship, in resisting wrong, and in facing hardships we cannot control. Taqwa is the clothing for this journey, while a daily portion of Qur'an is spiritual medicine. Our companions matter because we absorb one another's habits, so we should walk with people who remember Allah and help us obey Him. The khutbah also reminded us to keep Gaza and its orphans in our hearts, pray for relief, and give what we can to support them.

  1. What does being a traveler toward Allah look like in our family this week?
  2. Which kind of sabr is hardest for you, and what could help you practice it?
  3. How can we make Qur'an part of our daily routine?
