For the dinner table

As we prepare for school, the khateeb reminded us to care for our children’s faith and character alongside their education. Islam allows us to pursue success while staying close to Allah and helping other people. He encouraged parents to guide with love, as Luqman did, so children learn to choose what is right even when their parents are not there. Children need room to ask questions, understand their religion, and make their faith their own. Studying and working with excellence, sincerity, and fairness can become acts of worship, and our worth rests in being servants of Allah rather than in grades, money, or titles.

  1. What is something you could do at school with the intention of pleasing Allah and helping someone?
  2. What question about Islam would you like us to explore together?
  3. What could we celebrate about one another this week besides grades or achievements?
