Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today the imam explained that tawbah means returning to the right path when we have wandered away. It begins with recognizing wrong as wrong, admitting it privately to Allah, stopping it, and feeling sincere regret. We should intend not to repeat the wrong, repair harm we have caused others, and follow it with good actions. If we slip again, we should repent again and never give up hope. The imam reminded us to turn back to Allah promptly and sincerely, seeking His forgiveness and pleasure.
- What does the imam's picture of returning to the right path teach us about making a fresh start?
- How could someone make things right after hurting a friend's feelings?
- What could help someone keep trying after making the same mistake again?
