Patience & trialsFrom the masjid's own video, Sep 3, 2025.

Hardship and ease are both Allah's provision

“The hardships and the ease, all of them are part of your provision.”

The khateeb, at 21:32

In one sentence

Because every circumstance of life, including wealth, health, ease, and hardship, is Allah's provision and a test, believers should work and pray diligently while accepting Allah's decree with gratitude, repentance, and patience.

The khutbah teaches that rizq means more than money: it includes health, family, abilities, respect, blessings, and even difficult tests. Allah gives each person what is wise and fitting, so we should trust Him even when we do not understand an outcome. Trusting Allah does not mean becoming passive; we should work hard, plan, improve ourselves, and continue making dua. We should also seek forgiveness, thank Allah for what we have, and remain patient during hardship. Contentment with Allah's decree brings inner independence and helps us live for our true purpose: worshipping Allah.

  1. What is one blessing or challenge in your life that you could view as part of your provision?
  2. How can we work hard while still being content with Allah's outcome?
  3. What is one way our family can practice gratitude or patience this week?
