For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that our purpose is to worship Allah, and worship includes how we treat the people around us. Ramadan should help us become better people throughout the whole year, so preparation should begin now through fasting, Qur'an reading, and planning. He encouraged us to notice people who are sick, lonely, hungry, or struggling and to reach out in simple ways. He especially reminded us to care for our elders, who cared for us when we were young. Small acts of mercy can make a real difference in someone's life.
