Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that worry, sadness, and even depression can be part of human life, and that believers should not feel ashamed for facing them. We were encouraged to remember that Allah knows our condition and can give the heart tranquility. The speaker asked us to examine whether our worries come from worldly attachment or from standing for what is right, then to turn to Allah through remembrance, prayer, patience, humility, and giving. We can carry this home by choosing one of these practices and asking Allah for steadfastness and a heart close to Him.
