The khutbah reminded us that the most important knowledge is recognizing Allah, and that worldly learning should support that recognition. It taught us to love Allah, His friends, and the oppressed, while resisting falsehood and harmful desires. Zuhd does not mean owning nothing; it means not allowing anything to own our hearts, and never selling our souls for worldly rewards. The story of Yusuf showed that trusting Allah is a sign of true recognition, because Allah does not forget us even in difficult circumstances. We can act on this message by seeking beneficial knowledge, protecting our deen, helping others generously, and turning to Allah with confidence.
