For the dinner table

Imam Na'eem reminded us that our hearts need care because our intentions matter to Allah. He described the heart as a king and explained that what we watch, hear, say, and eat can affect it. Looking constantly at other people's wealth can weaken gratitude, and listening to backbiting can shape how we feel about people we have never met. Protecting our hearts means making thoughtful choices about these everyday influences, including eating what is lawful and avoiding excess. When we make a mistake, we should seek Allah's forgiveness and return to Him promptly, like washing a pan before the residue becomes difficult to remove.

  1. What is something Allah has given you that you felt thankful for today?
  2. What could you say kindly when friends start talking badly about someone?
  3. How does the example of cleaning a pan help you understand returning to Allah after a mistake?
