The khutbah teaches that the heart guides a person’s whole life, and that spiritual blindness is more dangerous than physical blindness. A heart can become covered by sin, love of worldly pleasures, lack of regret, and heedlessness, but it can also be polished through sincere tawbah. We can revive it with hope, daily dhikr, good deeds, service to the vulnerable, remembering death, and keeping company with righteous people. Even after serious mistakes, Allah’s mercy remains open to anyone who returns to Him. The goal is to live with a heart that recognizes Allah and responds to His guidance.
