Today’s khutbah taught that ghaflah means deliberately neglecting why Allah created us and what comes after death. We can become heedless when we ignore the Qur’an, miss Jumu’ah without a real excuse, choose worldly concerns over the Hereafter, or let entertainment consume our time. The cure is to keep good company, remember Allah with an attentive heart, and pray at least a small amount of night prayer. Even ten verses can be a meaningful beginning, so we should choose a manageable step and keep it going. The goal is to use our hearts, eyes, and ears for truth and to fill our lives with fewer sins and more good deeds.

  1. What distraction makes it hardest for you to remember Allah?
  2. Who helps you become a better Muslim, and how can you spend more time with them?
  3. What small worship habit could you begin after Isha tonight?
