For the dinner table

This Eid khutbah reminded us of Ibrahim’s trust in Allah through difficult tests and his prayers for future generations. The khateeb also honored Hajar’s support, perseverance, and care in raising Ismail as a strong believer. He explained that the heart of sacrifice is our piety and awareness of Allah. To strengthen our trust in Allah, he encouraged us to make choices that please Him, remain thankful in both ease and hardship, and help our brothers and sisters. As a family, we can put these lessons into practice by caring for others, sharing food, and offering salam to people we know and people we do not.

  1. What is one blessing you can thank Allah for today, even if something was difficult?
  2. How could we help someone feel supported this week?
  3. What can Hajar’s care for Ismail teach us about helping each other grow?
