Free will requires repentance and correction
“The sin comes in when we use our free will incorrectly and we justify it.”
In one sentence
Because Allah tests human beings with free choice, Muslims should use that choice humbly by repenting after mistakes and taking Islam from the Quran, the Prophet’s Sunnah, and trustworthy scholars rather than personal desires or unverified online and AI sources.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Allah’s creation obeys Him, while humans are tested through free will.
- Mistakes do not disqualify the Sahaba; justifying mistakes and refusing correction are the real dangers.
- The Sahaba, Aisha, and classical scholars demonstrate how free will can serve Islam and why believers can learn from non-infallible teachers.
- Obeying Allah requires following the Prophet’s Sunnah alongside the Quran.
- Rejecting hadith, following personal desires, and inventing religious practices lead to misguidance.
- Google and AI can distort religious learning, so Muslims should verify knowledge through scholars, books, and the mosque.
