For the dinner table

Life can change quickly: jobs, health, and family circumstances may not stay the same. The khateeb reminded us that tawakkul, trusting Allah, and sabr, patience, are like two wings that help us face uncertainty. Trust does not mean sitting still; like the birds, we work and take the steps available to us. Ibrahim and Musa showed that after doing our duty, we can rely on Allah even when the path seems impossible. We should ask Allah for help, recognize every good deed as His mercy, and patiently keep doing our part.

  1. What is one way we can work hard while still trusting Allah?
  2. When have you needed patience because something did not happen right away?
  3. What good deed can we remember as Allah’s mercy this week?
