For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that Islam gives our lives balance and helps us understand what this world is for. This life is temporary and naturally includes hardship, so believers meet blessings with gratitude and difficulties with patience, trusting Allah and remembering Him. Our faith also gives us a responsibility because people may judge Islam by what they see in us at work, school, or in the neighborhood. True Hijrah means leaving behind what Allah has prohibited and continuing to improve as Muslims. We should also remember and make dua for community members who are ill.

  1. When was it hard to be patient recently, and what could remembering Allah change?
  2. How can our family show Islam kindly at school, work, or in our neighborhood?
