Trust Allah to find inner peace
“Do not be shaky from any news or from any rumor that you hear here and there.”
True tranquility comes from remembrance of Allah, trust in Him, and purposeful action rather than external comforts or fear-driven thinking.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Tranquility and inner security are essential blessings beyond wealth, travel, family, or physical comfort.
- Quranic examples present homes, night, marriage, and divine reassurance as sources of sakinah.
- Fear, grief, anger, and overstimulation can weaken people, while dhikr restores calm and clarity.
- Believers should resist anxiety-producing news and rumors, remain optimistic, and continue useful work.
- Musa's story illustrates how trust in Allah can grow from fear into complete inner strength.
- The khutbah closes by urging responsible effort without fear and offering prayers for believers and the oppressed.
In the khateeb's words
“His problem is within him. His problem is inside of his body or heart. So he will not be a different person when he goes to somewhere else.”
“Do not be shaky from any news. or from any rumor that you hear here and there.”
“If you look at the empty part, you will never ever see the water in the cup.”
“Do not be afraid at the same time. You fight, you go into Allah with a strong heart.”
For the dinner table
The khutbah reminded us that tranquility is a blessing from Allah, and comfortable surroundings do not always make our hearts feel settled. The khateeb encouraged us to remember Allah and deepen our trust in Him when life feels frightening or uncertain. He reminded us to appreciate everyday blessings such as a safe home, health, and food for the day. Through the example of planting even as the Day of Judgment approaches, he encouraged us to keep doing useful work instead of letting fear stop us. He also described Musa’s growing trust in Allah, inviting us to strengthen our own trust and bring calm and reassurance to others.
- What is one everyday blessing you noticed today that helped you feel safe or cared for?
- When could our family pause together to remember Allah during a busy day?
- What is one useful or kind thing you could do this week even if something is worrying you?
