For the dinner table

The khateeb described Ramadan as a dear friend whose return brings opportunities for forgiveness, mercy, and becoming closer to Allah. He reminded us that the early Muslims prayed for months to reach Ramadan and then prayed for Allah to accept their worship. Ramadan is special because the Quran was revealed in it, it contains Laylat al-Qadr, and Allah chose it as the month of fasting. Fasting helps train us to obey Allah, recognize our shortcomings, and return to the Quran and prayer with sincerity. He encouraged us to appreciate the gift of reaching another Ramadan and prepare to spend meaningful time in worship so that the month brings lasting change to our lives.
