The khutbah teaches that Shaytan tries to mislead people through doubt, attractive-looking falsehood, and misleading names. We can protect ourselves by remembering Allah, fulfilling our obligations, avoiding sin, and sincerely relying on Him. The story of Adam and Hawwa reminds us that making a mistake is not the end. A believer admits the wrong, asks Allah for forgiveness, and returns to Him. Modesty and regular supplication are also described as protections from temptation.
