Turn to Allah when distress arises

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that difficulty, grief, and distress are part of human life, and even the Prophet experienced them. He encouraged us to remember that Allah knows our situation, turn to Him, and reflect honestly on the source of our worries. He asked us to examine what matters most to us and give the akhirah, our life to come, priority over worldly gain. He described sakina as tranquility Allah gives that strengthens our resolve and reliance on Him. He also encouraged ikhbat, a heart humble before Allah and the truth, expressed through reverence, patience, prayer, and charity.

  2. What is one choice this week where you could put pleasing Allah first?
  3. What could we give or share together as a family this week?
