For the dinner table

This khutbah reminds us that our time is our life, and that real success is not only a job, status, or comfort. We are asked to use our time for faith and good deeds, encourage truth and goodness, and help one another avoid harm. The speaker says we will be accountable for how we spent our life and youth, how we earned and used money, and whether we practiced what we learned. He especially urges us to ask Allah to purify our hearts and to live with the same sincerity when alone and when others are watching. This week, we can choose one good habit to strengthen and gently help someone we love do the same.

  1. Which part of your day could you use more intentionally for something good?
  2. What does being the same person privately and publicly look like?
  3. Which kind of knowledge do you want to put into practice this week?
