The khutbah reminded us that the Qur'an is Allah's eternal revelation and that He has preserved it through generations of people who memorize, recite, teach, and live by it. The speaker showed how huffaz carried the Qur'an through persecution, slavery, colonialism, and times when books were destroyed or banned. He also said the Qur'an does more than preserve itself: it preserves our faith, identity, families, and communities, and can bring someone back after they have strayed. We were encouraged to begin or continue memorizing at any age, help our children learn, and support ISOC's Hifz program, including opportunities for girls. Our responsibility is to keep the Qur'an in our hearts, act on it, and pass it to others.
