For the dinner table

Life brings both blessings and hardships, and the khutbah says both are tests of how we live. A believer responds to blessings with gratitude and to hardship with patience, prayer, and trust in Allah. Patience does not mean pretending that pain is absent: it is okay to cry and feel sad, as long as grief does not become despair. Patience helps us worship, avoid sin, control our reactions, and keep doing what is right. We should renew our bond with Allah through prayer and supplication, remember people suffering around the world, and come to Jumu'ah on time.

  2. What does being thankful look like when something good happens?
  3. How could our family make more time for prayer or a kind act for people suffering?
