For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that life is a gift from Allah, and youth is a precious time to grow in faith and use our energy well. He encouraged parents to care for their children’s character and faith as thoughtfully as they care for their financial needs. Through the story of the young believers in the cave, he pointed to the masjid, the Quran, and closeness to Allah as places of refuge when life is difficult. He welcomed sports and recreation while asking us to keep them in balance with our faith and responsibilities. As summer approaches, we can help one another find good companionship, wholesome fun, and meaningful ways to spend our time.

  1. What helps you feel close to Allah when things are difficult?
  2. What is one way our family can help you grow in kindness and faith?
