For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that a person’s spiritual state can change. Someone who is righteous today must remain humble, while someone who has sinned should never give up hope in Allah’s mercy. The speaker encouraged us to live with both fear of our sins and hope in Allah’s forgiveness. Hope should lead us to good actions and repentance, not carelessness. We should keep returning to Allah and avoid both pride and despair.
