Small compromises can corrupt the heart

“What I'm saying is we need to eliminate the little steps.”

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah created us with a seed of goodness. He explained that harmful habits can grow slowly, through small choices we repeat without noticing. Missing Qur'an reading, becoming late for prayer, and speaking carelessly were examples he asked us to examine. As Ramadan approaches, he encouraged us to read the Qur'an, pray on time, watch our words, and prepare a list of du'ahs. His message invites us to take small steps now so we are better prepared to meet Allah. He ended by asking Allah for forgiveness, another Ramadan, and help forgiving people who have hurt us.

  1. What small habit could help you make time for the Qur'an this week?
  2. How could our family help one another pray on time?
  3. What would you like to ask Allah for in your Ramadan du'ahs?
