For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah are a special chance to draw closer to Allah through good deeds. He urged us to practice muraqabah, remembering that Allah sees our choices even when nobody else does. Islam is also a religion of service: we should greet newcomers, help people in need, bring happiness to our families, and give quietly when we can. As a family, we can choose one act of worship, one act of kindness, and one honest self-check for this week.

  1. What is one good deed you can do during the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah?
  2. How can we help someone quietly without seeking praise?
