Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Pain and hardship are unavoidable parts of this life, which is a temporary test rather than our final home. When we face them, we should turn to Allah, remember the Akhira, and resist anger or entitlement. Every pain can bring forgiveness, raised ranks, and reward when met with patience and hope. Allah may also place hidden good in what looks like a setback, so we can say, “Inshallah, it is khair,” while asking Him for strength and well-being.

  1. What is one hard thing that might still teach us or help us grow?
  2. What could you say or do when something disappointing happens?
  3. How can remembering the Akhira change one choice you make this week?
