For the dinner table

The khateeb used sports to remind us that our lives have rules, responsibilities, and a purpose given by Allah. Just as players pay attention to referees, we should remember that Allah knows our actions and intentions wherever we are. He encouraged us to support people facing injustice and to make the Prophet our role model. He also reminded us to use today’s opportunities to pray, care for our parents, smile at our families, repair relationships, give charity, and turn back to Allah after mistakes. His closing message was to keep pleasing Allah and meeting the Prophet as our greatest hopes, rather than letting worldly success become our biggest concern.

  1. What is one way you could follow the Prophet’s example tomorrow?
  2. How could our family help someone who is being treated unfairly?
  3. What opportunity to do something kind could you use today?
