Resist Shaytan by guarding your worship

“Find a friend that will remind you of Allah, dear brothers and sisters.”

The khateeb, at 18:40

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Shaytan is our enemy and that Allah calls us to worship Him and follow His guidance. He explained that Shaytan works through small steps, including putting off good deeds, stirring doubts while we do them, and encouraging pride afterward. He urged us to take care of our prayers and remember Allah, even when we feel distracted or tempted to delay. He also encouraged us to choose friends who remind us of Allah. For families, his advice was practical and caring: be good examples, sit together, pray together, explain the deen, and listen to our children.

  1. What is one good thing you sometimes put off, and what would help you get started?
  2. How can you help a friend remember Allah in a kind way?
  3. What would you like our family to talk about or learn together about our deen?
