For the dinner table

This khutbah reminds us that life is temporary and that our real goal is to meet Allah pleased with what we have done. Muhasabah means regularly checking our actions, intentions, and direction before the final Day of Judgment. The transition from Dhul Hijjah to Muharram is an opportunity to repent, seek forgiveness, and renew our connection with Allah. We should keep making dua even when its answer is delayed. We should also honor the rights of Allah, our families, neighbors, community, and humanity.

  1. What is one action you could review more honestly each day?
  2. How can our family make tomorrow better than today?
  3. What responsibility toward another person deserves more attention this week?
