For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reflected on the Prophet’s losses and hardship, and on the hope and mercy he showed at Ta’if. The khateeb reminded us that Allah sees our struggles and hears our du’as, even when relief feels far away. He encouraged us to remember times Allah helped us and to write down everyday blessings we might overlook. He also urged us to care for orphans and respond kindly to people asking for help, including connecting them with someone who can support them. We can support one another by listening, talking about our difficulties, and seeking counsel when we need it.

  1. What is one everyday blessing you would write on your gratitude list tonight?
  2. How could you help someone who needs more support than you can give?
  3. What helps you feel comfortable talking to someone about a hard day?
