For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that distractions, news, and worries can pull our hearts away from Allah. Allah has given us the Quran and the Prophet’s example to help us find guidance and live with purpose. Learning matters, but we also need to put what we learn into practice through truthful speech, worship, charity, and asking forgiveness. Allah knows what each person is going through, and our sincere efforts to return to Him do not go to waste. Like soil that needs water and care, our hearts need attention so that taqwa, being mindful of Allah, can grow.
