The khutbah teaches that the heart is the center of our faith and actions. Good deeds only truly benefit us when they are done sincerely for Allah, not for praise or recognition. Sin can darken the heart, but repentance, remembrance, worship, and obedience can restore it. The first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah are a special opportunity to renew our relationship with Allah. We should use them for Quran, fasting, charity, prayer, and repairing broken relationships.

  1. What helps your heart feel closer to Allah?
  2. Which good deed could you do more sincerely this week?
  3. Is there a relationship you could help repair?
