The khateeb said parents may rightly work hard to give children good schools, careers, homes, and financial security. He used the Prophet's advice to Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas to show that leaving heirs wealthy is better than leaving them dependent on others. But wealth and achievement are not the final goal. The deeper duty is to nurture children's hearts and help them grow in taqwa, because worldly advantages alone will not benefit them.
