The khutbah teaches that Allah cares about the condition of our hearts and the deeds that come from them, not simply our wealth, status, or appearance. A pure heart turns to Allah, avoids shirk, harmful desires, heedlessness, and resentment, and finds peace through Allah’s love. The speaker reminded us of a man promised Paradise because he slept without holding hatred or envy toward other Muslims. We can care for our hearts through tawbah, dhikr, and a daily portion of Quran. Before sleeping, we should forgive others and ask Allah to remove bitterness from our hearts.

  1. What matters more before Allah: what we own or what is in our hearts?
  2. What is one small Quran or dhikr habit our family could keep every day?
  3. How can we forgive someone before bedtime?
