For the dinner table

Today's khutbah taught that life's hardships and blessings are both tests from Allah. When suffering comes, we can respond with patience, repentance, and trust instead of assuming Allah has abandoned us; hardship may cleanse sins or raise our rank. When good things come, we should remember they are gifts and tests, not proof that we are better than others. The speaker encouraged us to keep serving Allah even when results take years, and to stay humble, grateful, and persistent. We can carry this into the week by making istighfar, noticing our response to setbacks, and using blessings responsibly.

  1. What is one good thing that might also be a test?
  2. When have you had to wait patiently for something important?
  3. How can we show humility when Allah gives us a blessing?
