For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that true success is living with awareness of Allah and regularly remembering Him. Shaykh Ismail shared how the ICPC youth camp, its sincere teachers, and good Muslim companionship planted seeds of faith that eventually changed the direction of his life. He encouraged parents to lead by example, patiently plant faith in their children, and connect them with the masjid and uplifting environments. He also described how campers became happier, calmer, and more attentive after spending several days away from their phones and interacting with one another. As school and work resume, he urged everyone to protect themselves through both taqwa and friends who help them remember Allah and choose what is right.

  1. Who is someone who helps you remember Allah or become a better person, and how do they do that?
  2. What activity would you enjoy doing with family or friends during a phone-free hour?
  3. What is one small seed of goodness you could plant in someone’s life this week?
