For the dinner table

The khateeb welcomed Ramadan as a gift from Allah and an opportunity for mercy, forgiveness, and a fresh start. He encouraged us to look at our habits and our homes and make changes that bring us closer to Allah. He reminded us that the most meaningful race is in good deeds, rather than gathering wealth. Just as we feed our bodies, we nourish our souls through remembering Allah, reading the Quran, and making dua. Fasting is also training in taqwa, being conscious of Allah, so he urged us to worship with understanding and carry those habits beyond Ramadan.
