For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that the Qur'an helps us change by first caring for our hearts. The imam spoke about how fragile we are and how easily life's challenges can leave us worried or overwhelmed. He encouraged us to turn our attention toward Allah through regular prayer, slowing down our recitation and trying to pray with awareness. He also urged us to share our money, time, and effort with people facing hardship, including those who do not ask for help. Remembering our return to Allah can put our worries into perspective, and the khutbah closed by reminding us to show good character and follow mistakes with good deeds.

  1. What could help you slow down and pay attention during your next prayer?
  2. How could our family help someone who is having a hard time but hasn't asked for help?
  3. What good deed could you do after making a mistake?
