This khutbah teaches us about raja’: hope and optimism joined with asking Allah for help. The khateeb reminds us that Yaqub felt deep grief and brought that grief to Allah while continuing to hope. Remembering Allah as the provider, healer, and merciful one can help us face hard times. We can hope for good things in this life, for Allah to accept our good deeds, and for His forgiveness and mercy. He encourages us to make du’a sincerely from our hearts and keep Jannah as our ultimate goal.
