True honor comes from taqwa

In one sentence

True honor and glory come from worshipping Allah and living by taqwa, not from culture, tribe, status, wealth, or possessions; false measures produce personal and communal humiliation.

For the dinner table

Allah is the true owner of everything, so our worth cannot come from a brand, job title, family, nationality, or bank account. The Qur'an gives us the Furqan, a criterion for telling truth from falsehood and living tawhid in daily life. The khutbah warns that chasing status can become a hidden form of worship and lead to debt, arrogance, gossip, division, and oppression. Real honor is connected to taqwa, humility, and serving Allah, while remembering that life and possessions are temporary trusts. We are encouraged to examine our motives, give Allah credit for our blessings, avoid looking down on others, and prepare to meet Him.

  1. What is one thing people chase for status that may not really make them honorable?
  2. How can remembering that everything belongs to Allah change the way we use our money?
  3. What does treating someone with taqwa-based honor look like in our family or school?
