For the dinner table

The khutbah says that people naturally long for what is good and complete, so the gap between our hopes and our behavior can make us uneasy. That discomfort should wake us up, not paralyze us, and our spiritual goals should come before temporary worldly goals. Because we carry the amanah, we should represent Islam well in public through trustworthy character, wisdom, and constructive action against wrong. We will fall short, but falling short is not the end: we should turn back to Allah with real regret and sincere repentance. Allah accepts those who return to Him, so every moment of inspiration to do better is an opportunity to begin again.

  2. How can our family show good character outside the mosque?
  3. What is one wrong we can respond to wisely this week?
